Why Do Donkeys Hate Dogs?

Last Updated on March 11, 2022 by Allison Price

Donkeys have deep-rooted skills for self-preservation. What are the predators of the donkey? There are many predators for the donkey, including coyotes, wolves and bear, as well as cougars and bears. The dog is a coyote and wolf, but the donkey doesn’t know the difference until they learn the difference and are taught that their lives are not in danger. Farm dogs cannot get in the same space as the donkey. Our fences prevent accidents. Our dogs are taught to stay put until the donkeys leave. The next step is to show the donkey that we are the leader of the donkey and dog without any abuse. The leader is always the leader.

Need help training your donkey?

Dogs can be tolerated by donkeys. Dogs must not be allowed to chase, bite or nip donkeys. A single kick can kill a dog. You must make sure that your donkey and dog understand that you are the leader.

Safety tip:

Hot wire should be placed beneath the paddock fencing to prevent predators or dogs from crawling underneath it.

Safety is the number one concern when working with horses, mules and donkeys.

GOD Bless you and your family, two- and four-legged!

I’m Allison, born and raised in San Diego California, the earliest memory I have with horses was at my grandfather’s farm. I used to sit at the stable as a kid and hang out with my Papa while he was training the horses. When I was invited to watch a horse riding competition, I got so fascinated with riding!
